working on making a Gimmick hack with unused game graphics, entirely new or modified levels, and an insane dificulty . I finished the first few levels If anyone wants to give it a go on their emulator. There are some glitches in the game but all are intentional except for some minor graphical glitches that I need to fix. Be warned tho, its 10xmore difficult than the original

Yup, I saw the room on the game map, however i saw that it was completely blocked off. I honestly wasnt sure if it would be possible to get there, but then I got the idea of jumping from the bird onto a star and sure enough it worked!
Hi! Im a huge gimmick fan and I must say that I am amazed to have stumbled upon a place like this, this is great! Btw, that secret potion room is quite obvious actually, after having played the game for a while those are exactly the spot you want to check out. Your hack is awesome, I havent finished it yet but got to the fourth level pretty easily. I died on the third level though so I didnt have all the treasure... The challange is very good, but the game itself is completely broken and there are a lot of what seems to be bugs (not exactly features ). Im going to show this to my gimmick friend, who I have been competing in this game with, though. Thank you so much for giving this new gimmick challange. (sorry if this is a dead thread, but I just had to write in it)
I finished the hacked version, realized that it got a lot easier once I got past the fourth level. Although I'm very happy that you have taken yourself the time to program this hack I must say that you miss the point of being a skilled gimmick player at many scenes. Even on the first level you offer the possibility to go to the first boss via cannon when it is an obvious choice to go there by star. On the second level there is really no reasen to go below deck on the boat. On the third level you have the brilliant idea of including the white things from the last level, but you have no birds to activate them with so they are just pointless. You should force the player to utilize the riding technique for this enemy. On the fourth level you don't even use the corridor with spears. The way you hid the sword was very interesting, although it's much easier to get in your hack than in the original. Overall I think you should try and make the bosses harder by modifying the rooms they are in. Although you seem to have activated the pirate and bird bosses aggressive modes right away, this doesn't increase the difficulty leve very much. I can't see why you give the player more than two health upgrades per level when there should be no such pickups at all in a hardcore version. Pretty good work, there is much to refine.
